About
Us
Saltman
& Stevens, P.C. was founded in 1980. We are a premier boutique
law firm that focuses on matters involving
contractual and other relationships
between
private
parties or local government entities and the federal government.
We are located in the heart of Washington, D.C. which gives
us convenient
access to the courts and administrative tribunals based in and
around Washington, D.C. that resolve disputes related to every
type of
government contract and other complex relationships with the federal
government. It also permits us to conduct frequent face-to-face
meetings with top-level agency officials.
Since
its inception almost 30 years ago, Saltman & Stevens has
concentrated its practice in matters involving resolving our
clients' problems
with the
federal
government. The firm provides counseling and litigation representation
to a nationwide and international clientele on matters such
as preparing and prosecuting
contract claims, obtaining and maintaining government contracts
and permits, including prosecuting and defending against bid
protests, resolving questions of appropriations law, representing
clients involved in international trade disputes, and advising
clients on compliance with numerous policies and regulations
that
significantly affect their ability to deal with the federal
government.
We
regularly represent clients in complex
litigation with the federal government and provide strategic
advice and litigation representation in a number of areas including
government contracts, federal antitrust law, small business
issues, suspension and debarment, international trade and customs
law, and compliance with federal regulations governing sealed
bid and negotiated
contracts. In addition, we have a nationally
recognized practice in federal timber contract law and in
the use
and enjoyment of natural resources within the national forests,
national parks, and other federal lands. We work regularly
with
individual companies and trade associations to resolve natural
resource issues critical to their objectives.
Saltman
& Stevens' practice philosophy is grounded in a team concept
which permits a carefully tailored approach to each client's needs,
drawing upon the particular expertise of each of the firm's attorneys.
This approach enables us to represent entities of varying sizes
effectively and in a manner consistent with their resources and
goals.
